Mostar - Old Bridge and Neretva river - WhatsUpCams

Stari most (Old bridge) is a famous bridge over the Neretva River in Mostar, built between 1557 – 1566 by Turkish builder Hajrudin. On 9 November 1993, HVO forces destroyed the bridge. The bridge was reconstructed and completely renovated in 2004. Among the donors were the Turkish and Italian Governments. After its reconstruction, the bridge was added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO. It is known as the main symbol of Mostar and Herzegovina.
The bridge is made of stones in a form of an arch some 29 meters long and 20 meters high. Stari most is not associated with any specific style or period in architecture, making it unique in the world. Of tourist interest is certainly the traditional diving competition from the bridge, with its very long history; as of 2014, this competition has been held 448 times. The camera, in addition to showing the bridge and Neretva river, shows the core of the Old City of Mostar.
