Cinemas are more and more oriented towards programming strategies that include alternative contents. The increase in the number of events in theaters, documentaries, live shows and exhibitions, live broadcasts of operas and famous ballets, reflect the growing interest of the audience towards film products that, after the release in theaters, also reach home entertainment, pay tv and free tv, thus opening new spaces for live performances. What stance is dance – and all those involved in its creation and production – taking in the face of this new opportunity?
Five experts, each representing a different point of view, will discuss the relationship of dance with cinema and television, analyse the distinctive features of the choreographic gesture in the video, reflect on the developments that have taken place so far, and raise questions about possible future scenarios.
