The Pula Giardini webcam shows a live view of the Giardini, the tree-lined promenade in the centre of Pula that locals also call the Korzo.
The Giardini were laid out in the second half of the 19th century as a park and promenade below the Kaštel hill. The area later served as a marketplace and today is a green space lined with cafés. After the Second World War the promenade became known as the Korzo and turned into the main meeting place of the city. The live image lets you check the weather and the atmosphere in the centre of Pula before you head out.
Hackberry trees and city life
The shade of the Giardini comes from its hackberry trees: about a hundred were planted in four rows at the beginning of the 20th century, and some eighty of them still stand, reaching around 20 metres in height. On the east side the promenade leads towards the Arch of the Sergii, the Roman gate into the old town.
